April Events in SL

The April round of events in SL are now in full swing.  There are still a few more to open over the coming weeks, however I wanted to share a few gorgeous trinkets from my SL event travels thus far for this month.

The Black Fair has been open for a week now and Scandalize are back.  I was so happy to Yanika post a photo in Flickr of what she is featuring at the Black Fair event this year, so with spring finally here and dreams of long sunny days, I thought that I would take a stroll over at Soul2Soul Bay.

Of course when deciding which colour of the Susan dress to purchase, I was stuck, I usually am with Scandalize and then after I decided, I then wished that I had just bought the fatpack, so I may make another trip back to the store.  *Laughs*  In my mind I knew exactly the spring look I wanted and the Susan beach dress is perfect for a bit of beach glamour.

Black Fair 001

At the 2017 Black Fair event I bought an unusual, but stunning gown from Eclipse Designs (the Samal) and this year they have done it again by releasing the Shinty dress.  You can wear the Shinty either with a long or short skirt.  This dress oozes sex appeal and teamed up with the Paula shoes by N-Core (also at the Black Fair) and No Sir hair by No Match (at the Sense Event) you can quite happily stop traffic.

That is all for this blog post, however if you have not had a chance to visit The Black Fair yet, then I highly recommend it.  Have a good weekend and until next time …

Into The Groove

Posted in Disco,Hair,High Fashion,Into the groove,Jewellery,Metallic,SL Events,SL Mesh by Piper Hanriot on August 28, 2017

One of my favourite SL fashion events, Uber is now open for the August round and even though when I visited the event yesterday, it was busy, I felt like a child at Christmas when I saw all the wonderful delights featured.  So I decided to get into the groove and mix with the hub hub of fellow shoppers, before coming away with some amazing trinkets.

Groove 1

Tiara set in diamonds by SEUL (left) and Tess romper in gold by Erratic (right)

It does make me wonder if in a previous life I was a magpie, as I seem to always be drawn to shiny things and at Uber this month, there are lots of shiny things on offer as you can see from the photos in this blog.  After spending about 30 minutes casually wandering around the event and taking it all in, I felt inspired to create some disco looks as a theme for this blog.

Groove 2

Cristal pants and tops in beige by Vision

Even though I was able to mix and match most of my Uber purchases, I also used a couple of accessory items from elsewhere in my rather extensive SL wardrobe, otherwise known as my inventory.  However, the majority of the items used for this blog were purchased at the Uber event and as much as I love my everyday casual clothing and in the knowledge that autumn is just around the corner, I am not ready to wave goodbye to summer 2017 just yet.

So please feel free to join me and continue to sparkle and shine in diamonds and gold lame for another few weeks, dancing around SL without a care in the world and grooving with the late summer vibes.  So Mr DJ, put another record on and keep playing those tunes, as I am not done yet.  Are you?

Have a great week everyone.  Until next time …

Summer Events

Posted in Hair,High Fashion,Jewellery,SL Events,SL Mesh by Piper Hanriot on June 16, 2017

I am enjoying an extended weekend this week, now that my RL has calmed down which has meant that I have had time to visit some of the amazing summer events that are taking place this month in SL.

Surf 1

Jasmin bikini by Rebel Hope and Rebecca skin by Amara Beauty

My first trip took me to the June round of Fameshed.  I have to admit that sometimes I forget about this one, but since the anniversary event for Fameshed in May this year, I made sure to visit this month as well, where I bought the fabulous Jasmin bikini from Rebel Hope. The bikini is available in various colours and there is a hud so that you can change the colour of the straps and metal findings.

The cosmetics fair is about to open shortly, however I am very delighted to show you a sneak peak of the new Rebecca skin from Amara Beauty.  Amazing skin designer, Shantia Soulstar posted a photo of the new skin on her Flickr page a few days ago, so I was very excited when I logged in this morning and received this stunning skin to blog for her.  The Rebecca skin comes in a choice of 12 skin tones and is compatible with Catwa mesh heads.

Surf 2

Surf board set from What Next and Haruka hair by Argrace

I sometimes like to use props in my photos, just to add variety and on the SL marketplace I found this surf board set.  I had so much fun with this today.

Included in the package are 4 surf boards.  A standing board with 5 poses, a flat surf board that you can rez in the water, again with 5 poses and then the other 2 boards have one pose each for carrying your surf board, one for under the arm and the other carrying your board over your head.  What Next never disappoint and this set is perfect for a day at the beach.

Off Shoulder top by Tetra and Aretha shorts by WellMade

My next trip took me to the June round of Uber, where from the corner of my eye, I found this amazing off the shoulder top from Tetra.  This gorgeous summer top is available in various colours and each box contains 2 versions, a solid colour version and a grid line version (shown above).  I am so pleased to see yellow back as one of the main summer colours this year.  It should be a standard colour for every year, but that’s just my opinion.

Ashley outfit by Finale Couture and Angie hair by Truth Hair

Next I visited the June round of the Designer Showcase where I purchased the gorgeous Ashley outfit by Finale Couture.  It may be summer but even working in an office you need to keep cool.  This short suit and heels is available in a variety of pastel colours.  The shorts and shoes are compatible with mesh bodies, however the jacket is standard mesh and comes in 5 different sizes, all included in the box.

Finally I had to add some sparkles and Earthstones jewellers have recently released their playful dolphin necklace and earrings.  There is a hud included in the box with a choice of 3 different metal options, 3 options for the main stone, 3 accent stones and 3 eye stones.  These stunning items are available at the Earthstones main store and also on the SL marketplace.

Well that is all I have time for now, however I will bring you more SL events news soon as I finally managed to also visit the Tropical Summer Event where I picked up a few trinkets.  For now though, have a good weekend.  Until next time …

Step into Spring

Posted in Hair,High Fashion,SL Events,SL Mesh by Piper Hanriot on April 9, 2017

In this blog, I am featuring a whole host of different designers in SL and showing you not only clothing, but shoes and hair as well.  I have put together a few spring looks, so I hope you like them.

Gown from Albino Peacock at the Designer Showcase

Yesterday I visited the Designer Showcase to see what delights they had in store for April and one of the items that caught my eye was the Ariel gown from Albino Peacock.  The Ariel gown is compatible with various mesh bodies and is available in a choice of six different spring colours.

Gingham tie shirt from Carrie’s Lingerie and Aretha shorts from WellMade.  Sakura hair group gift from Argrace

Carrie’s Lingerie recently released a variety of new separates called Jodie to include shirts, denim shorts, denim skirt, halter tops, bra tops, leggings, a dress, lingerie, spring nail varnish, make up, shoes and even some men’s boxer shorts.

Each of these items come with a hud so that you can change the colour of the item of clothing.  I highly recommend a visit to Carrie’s Lingerie so that you can see the whole collection.  Believe me when I say that I was stuck for what to choose.

Estela outfit from FurtaCor and Feather tattoo from Ivy’s Shop

A designer who has recently caught my eye in SL is FurtaCor who have some very cool and sassy clothing.  I also love their variety of outfits that feature logo t-shirts, which is always fun.  I have chosen to show you the Estela outfit, which comprises t-shirt, shorts and boots.  The box also contains two huds, one for the t-shirt and boots and the other for the shorts and belt.  There are lots of ways to mix and match this outfit and there are a variety of different logo’s for the t-shirt to choose depending on your mood.  Wonder Woman was my favourite TV show as a child, so of course I had to pay homage to her by choosing this logo.  FurtaCor have a store in-world and also on the SL marketplace.

I have completed this look with a fabulous feather tattoo from Ivy’s Shop on the SL marketplace.  The box comprises a tattoo for the Belleza body and also an Omega applier.  I am not a great one for tattoo’s however I quite like this one.  I might wear a few more tattoo’s as we roll into the summer.

Breeanya dress and Iconic doll shoes from Blueberry and Della jewellery set from Lazuri

Finally,  after paying a visit to one of my recently new favourite clothing stores, Blueberry, I saw that they had released a stunning new dress, which I then also saw on Strawberry Singh’s recent blog also.  In Strawberry’s blog she showed the Breeanya dress and Iconic doll shoes in gold, however I decided to go for silver and I completed the look with Della jewellery from Lazuri and hair from Argrace.

Wakana hair from Argrace

The Iconic doll shoes are available in the Blueberry store and are part of other items that you can receive in the gacha.  The Breeanya dress is brand new from Blueberry and is available in a rainbow of colours. There are also a couple of different fatpack varieties to choose as well.  Each box contains this stunning dress in a sheer version, a transparent version and an opaque version, all compatible with Belleza, Isis, Freya, Maitreya, Slink and Hourglass sizes.

Well dear readers, I have had fun creating these looks and will bring you more spring looks soon.  For more details on my styling for this blog, please feel free to visit my Flickr page link here.  Happy shopping.  Until next time …

Goddess Athena

Posted in Hair,High Fashion,Skins by Piper Hanriot on October 22, 2016

In today’s blog I am featuring a variety of talented designers in SL, as I think that they all deserve a mention.  So as well as the stunning Athena outfit from Carrie’s Lingerie, I am also showing off hair by Truth Hair, eyes by IKON and skin by Amara Beauty.

Carrie’s Lingerie first released the Athena gown silks set in blue and she has now recently released this stunning set in black.  The Athena set comes with a hud, which has two styles for the top and a number of ways in which you can wear the bottom part of this outfit. Above is the full gown set and you will see a couple of the other combinations in the photos below.  Carrie has also included an Omega hud with this set for those of us in SL who wear a mesh body.  I do like this set very much and I am now patiently waiting to see if Carrie releases a few more colours in this set for Christmas.

I have to say that I adore skins by Amara Beauty and I do get excited when the amazing creator, Shantia Soulstar sends me something new to blog for her.  Now coupled with my wearing a Catwa mesh head, this now gives me even more good reasons to give a shout out to both of these talented designers.  The skin I am featuring in this blog is the Tabrett skin,  which is compatible with Catwa mesh heads.  This skin is currently being featured at the ‘We Love Roleplay’ event in SL.  Shantia is actually showing two skins at this event, the Jade skin being the second one, which I will feature in another blog.

And finally how about a few other components.  I have always been a huge fan of eyes from IKON and hair from Truth Hair.  Since I started wearing a Catwa mesh head last month, I have also learnt something new, adding mesh eyes and then by using the hud, you can choose the size eye that you prefer and you can also adjust the glow and so making blue eyes even bluer for example.  These are definitely fun features and I am enjoying trying them out.

As for the hair, well Truth Hawks has done it again with this stunning style, Tyne, which is currently featuring at this month’s Uber event in SL and because I love to give my avatar fresh new looks, I purchased the variety hair pack, so I have at least one from each of the main hair colours, blond, red, brunette and black.  I can see myself wearing this hair quite a bit over the winter.

Time for me to sign off, however I will feature more wonderful delights from SL very soon.  Until next time …

A Splash of Colour

Posted in Hair,High Fashion by Piper Hanriot on April 8, 2016

Spring is here and I have been spending a little time in Secondlife looking for those essential new looks and bringing some colour back into my life after a grey and dull winter.

0. Miri 1

When looking for inspiration for new looks in SL, I visit designers stores in-world, as well as the monthly events and I also enjoy looking for new items on the SL Marketplace.  The only downside with the SL Marketplace is that you are limited to purchasing ten items at a time.  If only there were just a couple more slots … lol

0. Miri 2

Outfit and necklace: Miri from Indyra Originals

I have been a fan of Indyra Originals for quite a few years now and as spring is a time to inject some colour into the world again, the Miri from Indyra Originals caught my eye.  This outfit is mesh and although I wear a mesh body, it was easy to make a few adjustments to make outfit fit perfectly.  The Miri comprises a gorgeous top and shorts set and a gorgeous necklace to finish the look.  This pack also contains a hud, so you have a choice of six colours to choose from for both the outfit and the necklace.

0. Lagos 1

Sandals: Lagos from Essenz

I styled this item with a fabulous pair of heels from Essenz, the Lagos sandals.  I had not visited the Essenz store for a while, however a few weeks I ago I decided to visit and was delighted to see that Senzati0n Domenitzo at Essenz is now making appliers for her shoes that are compatible with the ever popular mesh bodies in SL.  I love these fringed Lagos heels, they are so sassy.

Finally I want to give a mention to Sabina Gully, awesome hair designer of Magika.  Magika have been in SL a long time and they have fast become one of my favourite stores in SL for hair.  As well as the classic hair colour packs, I do love the fantasy hair colour packs also, which you may see me using for styling looks.

Well that pretty much wraps up this blog, however I will have more spring looks soon.  Until next time …

Star Wars Styling (part 1)

Posted in Fantasy,Hair,High Fashion by Piper Hanriot on December 4, 2015

With the new Star Wars movie, episode seven, The Force Awakens releasing in cinemas across the globe in two weeks time, I decided to challenge myself and see what I could find by way of Star Wars women’s apparel in Second Life.  It has been ten years since the release of Star Wars, episode three, Revenge of the Sith and not so surprisingly there currently is not a great deal of women’s Star Wars outfits available both inworld or on the SL marketplace.

0. Padme 1

Queen Amidala styling for the Invasion of Naboo

The red gown that Queen Amidala wore in her throne room before the invasion of Naboo was a difficult one, not only when it came to finding the appropriate gown, but also the headdress.  In November 2015, The Instruments event in SL dedicated their theme to Star Wars, which is where I found this amazing headdress.  The gown is from Arwen’s Creations and I found Queen Amidala’s make-up on the SL marketplace.

0. Amidala 2

Queen Amidala make-up

0. Amidala 1

Queen Amidala celebration styling

My next challenge, styling Queen Amidala’s gown, worn to celebrate victory over the trade invasion was a little easier, however the main struggle was finding the perfect high collar.  The gown, ruffle collar and fur stola are from Sascha’s Designs.  The collar is actually from a different dress, however it was the best one I could find to complete this look.  The gold headdress I found on the SL marketplace and is by Zibska.

0. Amidala 3

Queen Amidala travel gown styling

For my final challenge for this blog I chose to style Queen Amidala’s travel gown and again this was quite a tricky one, especially when it came to trying to find a suitable headdress, which unfortunately I did not.  The gown and hood for this look both came from Arwen’s Creations and the big spiky collar from Sascha’s Designs.  As I could not find a big feather headdress for the hood, I decided on the collar instead to add to the effect of this look.

I must admit that finding suitable big hair and headdresses has proved to be the biggest challenge of all.  However with Star Wars fever ramping up, hopefully more designers in Second Life will start to create more Star Wars apparel.  It certainly would be wonderful to see more choice out there, as there are some simply stunning gowns and outfits from the past six Star Wars movies.

Until next time …

Autumn at Uber

Posted in Hair,High Fashion,Skins by Piper Hanriot on November 1, 2015

There is a monthly event in SL, which  has become one of my favourites in SL called Uber.  I always make time to visit this event, as they have designers showcasing some pretty amazing items.  From clothing and jewellery, to furniture and decorations for your home and garden.  For this blog I decided to model some great new looks for autumn.  The majority of the items shown are from this event.  I then added one or two things from designers main stores to complete the looks.

0. Autumn 1

Skirt, sweater and scarf from Kitja and skin (Caroline) from Glam Affair at Uber

I am now one of many women in SL who chooses to wear a mesh body, so it is also fantastic to see the growing number of designers who are designing apparel and including mesh body appliers in their clothing packs.  I enjoyed putting both these outfits (above and below) together.  Full styling details can be found on my Flickr page.

0. Autumn 2

Leggings and sweater from Erratic and hair with hat (Foxy) from Truth and skin (Caroline) from Glam Affair, all at Uber

Even though in RL was born in spring and my SL character, Piper rezzed in-world in winter, autumn is always my favourite time of year.  I love watching the leaves on the trees change colour, the cool mornings and of course wearing autumnal clothing, which also includes wearing scarfs and boots again.  Autumn inspires me with creativity and those who know me also know that I love being creative.

It has been fun putting these looks together and I will feature more from the Uber event in the future.  Until next time …

Easter Looks 2015

Posted in Hair,High Fashion,Skins,SL Mesh,Uncategorized by Piper Hanriot on April 5, 2015

Happy Easter Sunday everyone!

This is just going to be a quick blog today, as I have plans in the real world, however I wanted to share a couple of Easter looks I put together for this year.

The first is called Easter Delight by Vita’s Boudoir.  I love Easter and with spring slowly waking up in parts of the world, I love fresh and bright colours too so this outfit is perfect.

0. Easter 1

Easter Delight from Vita’s Boudoir

The stockings, shoes and hair bow are included with this outfit.  Vitabella has also included appliers for TMP and Slink body as well.  After a year of sporting blond hair, Piper is back to her signature dark locks, so I have styled both looks with hair (Mina – browns) from Truth Hair and skin (Margot America – make up 4) from Glam Affair.

0. Easter 2

Funny Bunny from Topazia

The second Easter outfit I have chosen is the Funny Bunny Outfit from Topazia.  This is a cute little bunny outfit and there are a number of lovely spring pastel colours to choose from.  The Easter basket is also included with this outfit, as well as the bunny ears.  With regard to shoes for both of these outfits they are compatible with Slink high feet.

That is all from me this Easter.  I with you all a good weekend whatever your plans and enjoy some chocolate, I know I will *smiles*.  Until next time …

Smart Winter Looks

Posted in Hair,High Fashion,Jewellery by Piper Hanriot on January 23, 2015

With the party season now behind us, I decided to share with you some sassy winter looks for this blog.

I start with the newly released Zoe double-breasted mesh dress from Gizza.  There are two different designs to choose from, Checker (seen below) or Snake and there are two colours in each dress set. I have styled this dress with the newly released Rome shoes from Essenz, together with the key chain necklace from Virtual Impressions and recently released hair, Azusa from Argrace.

I love tartan both in the real world and also in SL, so when Gizza released the Emily mesh dress, I just had to buy this one.  Giz has made this dress in six different tartan or check fabrics and colours.  Being a woman of traditional style I chose to model the tartan in red/green.  I have styled this dress with the Vienna shoes from Essenz, which were released in December 2014 and had women flocking to the store to buy these fantastic shoes.  I am also wearing the precious queen pearl earrings from Alienbear, glasses from ArisAris and the recently released Yuzu bobbed hair from Argrace.

For my final look I chose the Fonda mesh dress from FashioNatic.  This belted dress actually comes as part of an outfit, which also includes a pair of knee-high boots, a bracelet and a hud so you can change the colour of the top as well as adding a Lola/Tango applier.  The hud contains a choice of eight different top and applier colours and you can also choose either silver or gold for the belt buckle.  I have styled this look with my first ever bought and favourite pair of shoes from Essenz the Denver. I should also mention that all of the shoes featured in this blog are compatible with the Slink mesh high feet.

I hope you like my smart winter looks and I have posted these photos, together with more detailed styling information on my Flickr page at https://www.flickr.com/photos/47089508@N08/ for those of you who fancy a bit of January shopping in SL 🙂

Thank you for reading.  Until next time …
