Miss TWA 2012 Contest Update 2
On Friday 15 June entry for this year’s Miss TWA 2012 contest closed. We received a staggering 96 entries this year, which was absolutely amazing compared to previous years when we have received 40. This has meant that 40 women have been selected to go through to Stage 2 (the quarter-finals). The theme for this stage is “Ladies Day at the Races” and the photos are starting to come through, so please visit the store and have a look at the photos.
In the meantime, I have been able to catch up with the winner of the Miss TWA 2011 contest, Irina Strazytski for a quick interview to find out what she has been up to since winning her coveted title last August.
Piper: Hello Irina and thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to meet with me for a chat today.
Irina: Hello Piper. I am not too busy at the moment, so I am more than happy to have a catch up.
Piper: So it has been 10 months since you won the coveted crown of Miss TWA 2011 and I was absolutely thrilled to hear that you have been chosen as a Miss Virtual World finalist, MVW Finland 2013. How do you feel about this amazing achievement?
Irina: Ever since I saw Miss Virtual World in metaverse one and a half years ago, representing my native country, Finland, Miss Virtual World has been a distant dream of mine – the kind of dream you barely dare to think about because you won’t believe it will ever come true. Now that it’s really happening, I still have difficulty believing it is true. It feels fantastic, amazing, incredible, yet also a little scary.
Piper: How will this affect your modelling career in SL?
Irina: It makes my name well-known, which will hopefully open up new opportunities for me. It will also make people in the industry expect a lot more of me than before, which is a little bit frightening because I’m not used to that kind of attention. I think it will have a huge and positive impact on my career, but it will also depend on me. I’ll have to work hard and continue to improve myself or the opportunities will be wasted.
Piper: In August this year a new Miss TWA will be crowned. What words of advice can you give to all the women taking part in this prestigious contest?
Irina: Be yourself, treat others with respect and kindness, don’t give when you encounter setbacks and most importantly enjoy and love what you are doing.
Piper: Wise words indeed. Irina thank you so much and I wish you the best of luck in the MVW contest.
Irina: It’s been a pleasure and thank you Piper.
