Magnificent Medieval

Posted in Medieval by Piper Hanriot on April 28, 2012

The huge premises on Emerald Isle that house the famous White Armory apparel and weaponry store has been very busy over the past few months.  As you walk through the grand main entrance of the store and into the shopping area, all is tranquil as people shop happily whilst Ida and her team assist.  Yet on the floors above it is a different story.  On the one side you can hear Colton’s team beating metal into shape to make great swords and other weaponry.  On the other side and on a quieter scale are the offices of Store Manager Ida, Writer/Blogger Falbala, Designer extraordinaire Bee Dumpling and Events Manager Piper (myself).

Past these offices is Bee’s large design studio, where the magic happens.  As you walk through the door there is a flurry of activity.  In one part of the room women are sewing together reams of beautiful fabrics to make the gowns and outfits and in another part of the room a group of women are sat around a very large table hand sewing buttons, beads, sequins and crystals onto garments.  It is an amazing sight and everyone loves working at The White Armory.  So let me pay tribute by showing off some of the latest releases.

Firstly, the Adventurer’s Tunic, Jasmine outfit.  This is one from a collection in different contrasting colours, comprising a top with either a brown or black suede waistcoat, collar and gorgeous puff sleeves to match the top, suede trousers and a short overlay skirt.  This is perfect for medieval role play.

Next is the Dance of the Maiden, Lady Christina dress.  This dress actually compliments the Adventurer’s Tunic collection, so you can mix and match if you so wish.  The top and waistcoat are the same as on the tunic set and you can wear it either with or without the underlay top.  This dress has a long floor length skirt, adorned with beautiful sequins and an embroidered skirt hem band.

Now for something a little darker, this being the Dark Empress gown.  This dress has a fuller skirt with a gorgeous dark embroidery on the bodice.  Also featured with this dress is a buckle tie collar and a choice of either a horned tiara or crown to finish the look.

And finally for something more elegant and romantic, Bee’s latest release the Queen Antoinette gown.  This beautiful gown comprises a chiffon and ribbon top with double puff sleeves and a ribbon tie belt.  The skirt cascades in layers of satin with an elegant hand painted paisley print underskirt, a medieval dream.  Bee has released three colour combinations in this series so far, which include the Noble Heart in blues and lilac and the Lady Rebecca in greens and blue.
