Relay For Life

Posted in Medieval by Piper Hanriot on March 10, 2012

This weekend is going to be a busy one for me in respect of blogging.  There is so much going on and my designer friends in SL have been so busy recently that I have lots to show you.  My first thought was compiling one blog, featuring two of their items each, however I have now decided to dedicate a feature blog to each of them instead.  I will try not to waffle on too much and I hope you love the clothing in these next few blogs as much as I do.

So I begin with Relay For Life.  This event takes place every year in SL and starts today and will continue until 20 March.  A lot of designers get involved, creating exclusive items and selling them to raise funds for cancer research.  This year, my dear friend, Madison Winthorpe of Madison’s Creations has designed some beautiful gowns and corset tops, which she is selling at her store.

The first gown is the official RFL Gown 2012 by Madison’s Creations.  Green and pink go so well together and the styling of this dress is beautiful. From the fluted flowing sleeves, the gold buttons and detailing on the bodice to the tiered skirt, I adore this gown.  Madison has also included a plain skirt version as well.

Madison’s second gown is the Morgaine in Chocolate and Cream.  This very regal gown was launched a few years ago in 2010 I recall and was a big hit.  It can be worn as you see it here or without the collar, modesty top and cream overlay skirt.

For her third gown, Madison has taken the previously released Bree gown from 2011 and re-coloured it in the RFL colours and I have to say out of the three, this is my favourite. The detailed copper embroidery work on the edge of both the main and overlay skirts and also on the flowing sleeves  is simply exquisite.

Finally, I don’t have them to show you, but when you visit Madison’s Creations, please also take a look at the gorgeous corset tops.  Madison designed them so that they can complement any of her skirts or you can style them with a short skirt or trousers of your choice.  There are six wonderful colours to choose from or you can purchase the fatpack.

All proceeds for all of the above items are going to the Relay For Life American Cancer Society, an amazing cause and whilst on the subject just a note in respect of my RL to tell you that in July this year, I will again be taking part in the UK Race For Life for cancer.  More details to follow nearer the time, but I have started training for the 5K run.

Have a good weekend and SL whatever you are doing 🙂
