Call of The Sea

Posted in Fantasy by Piper Hanriot on November 27, 2011

My blog this week is dedicated to a special lady who is not only a talented model in SL, but she is also a designer.  Theta Cooperstone creates and designs her very own line in beautiful and enchanting mermaid apparel.  Theta gave me some pieces of her stunning work to show you, so if you feel the call of the sea, then why not  go visit her store, Mermaid Treasure & Boutique,  before taking to the ocean and discovering some rare pearls of your own.

Theta’s newest release Enchantress Circe

Much like sirens, mermaids will sing to people or to the gods to enchant them, distracting them from their work.  That is the myth in RL, however, I am not sure if the same can be said for SL.  However, looking as gorgeous and beautiful as this anything is possible.

Theta’s most popular mermaid outfit, Beautiful Helen

Traditionally mermaids have been depicted unclothed.  However when this is an issue, effort is made by giving the mermaids long hair, covering their breasts.  In movies you sometimes see mermaids sat on rocks singing and brushing their long hair.  It is easy to see why this would distract the fishermen from their work.

My favourite from Theta’s collection, Tamina Diva

I can’t imagine any mermaid as a diva, more as a magical temptress.  However, I can tell you a little about the first part of the name Tamina.  In Switzerland there is a river called Tamina, which originates near the Egghorn.  It starts on a course from north to south, then west to east and the total length of the river is 18km and looking at the pictures is very beautiful just like this gorgeous mermaid outfit created by Theta.

Destiny dark tail with Tiffany violet bustier and fins

The Destiny tails come in either dark or gold and there is a variety of colours in the Tiffany tops, so you can mix and match to your heart’s content.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my first fantasy blog, there will be more I guarantee.  In the meantime, I just want to say a thank you to you all for reading my blogs.  As we approach ever closer to December, keep a lookout for some very special blogs this year to include another Christmas story.
