Last of the Summer Wine Part 1

Posted in High Fashion by Piper Hanriot on August 24, 2011

As the fields of corn ripen, the bushes become a mass of juicy blackberries and the grapes on the vines plump as they ripen in the summer sun, harvesting the fruits of our labour will soon begin marking the next phase in our changing seasons.

For this I’d like you to sample with me some wonderful wines  and cast your eye on some amazing and creative work by some of our most talented SL designers.  From the light and fresh white wines to the rich and full-bodied reds, let’s sit back, relax and have a glass or two.

Let’s start with a chilled glass of bubbly champagne, just like this simply gorgeous gown called Pauline by Son!a.  A straight floor length dress with a satin bustier and sequined halter neck tie, this gown is very pleasing on the eye.  Please also note the exquisite black embroidery work on the bodice and hem of the skirt.  This gown fizzes and sparkles and is great for any special occasion.

Next let’s enjoy a glass of French bordeaux, medium bodied wine and very palatable just like my second dress choice called Lexi, also by the amazingly talented Sonia Jie at Son!a.  A richer blend of darker fruits with a hint of spice, as you look at this gown you can see it for yourself.  This is a classy and elegant dress and I love the gold ornaments on the neck and belt.

Now let us sample a cool, clear, crisp and refreshing Sauvignon blanc.  This gorgeous white wine is floral in aroma, yet zesty on the taste buds, just like this elegant gown by Saby Clary at Utopia called Samantha.  The beautiful embroidery work on the bodice and hem could almost be mistaken for vines filled with juicy green grapes.  Certainly a stunning gown for any summer ball.

And finally for this blog, let’s finish with a medium bodied yet soft and velvety Merlot.  This wine oozes with gorgeous dark fruits such as plums and blackberries.  I don’t mind drinking a luscious red in the summer, however, it tastes even better in winter.  My final gown is called Delicate Caress by Bee Dumpling at The White Armory and when I read the description of a Merlot wine, then look at this stunning masterpiece, I can clearly see the description.  It’s a perfect match.

That is it for this week, but stay tuned, as I will continue my Last of the Summer Wine set by bringing you some more vintage classics and new world varieties to choose from.  Well Autumn is just around the corner *smiles*.
