Medieval Mania (part 1)

Posted in Medieval by Piper Hanriot on November 2, 2010

Welcome all to my blog for this week.  I am new to blogging, but have been inspired by others and having spent almost 3 years in SL, I have made a lot of friends and now feel I’d like to feature some of very amazing and talented friends who create some of the most beautiful things in SL.

This week I am going to start by featuring my very good friend Madison Winthorpe of Madison’s Creations.  I met Madison over a year ago now, being introduced to her by a mutual friend.  Madison creates some of the most gorgeous Medieval apparel for both men and women in SL and the quality of her work is of a very high standard.  From simple dresses to the most elaborate and details gowns and shoes, there is something for every woman’s wardrobe.  When I asked her what inspired her to create Medieval clothing in SL she told me “I’ve always loved history, especially the Medieval time period. I grew up hearing of King Arthur and Guinevere, paintings by Waterhouse and just really connected with anything medieval. I’ve just always loved it, especially the romance of it and the costumes. Women were truly feminine, and the men were all so debonair and gentleman like”.

So I hope you will enjoy the following pictures of just a few delights to whet your appetite.  The dresses I have shown are just a few of my favourites.

This dress, the Mirabelle was released in August this year.  It is worn here with the overbust corset, but can also be worn with elegant puffed sleeves.  All of Madison’s dresses are available in an array of colours to choose from. (hair by Truth, skin by LAQ)

The Gwenyth is a lovely summer dress shown here with the straight skirt and matching belt, it can also be worn with an empire skirt. (hair by Amacci, skin by LAQ)

Charlotte is one of Madison’s most recent releases.  A very beautiful gown with a regal feel, perfect for an evening of dancing.  I’ve shown it here in just different ways to wear it. (hair by Secrets, skin by LAQ)

And finally, one of my personal favourites and I think the gown that probably took the longest to create with its intricate and gorgeous details.  However, it truely is a masterpiece.  The Brianna shown here with just the dress and also with the jacket. (hair by Tukinowaguma, skin by LAQ) Madison also created a men’s version to compliment the women’s dress called Bryce.

Thank you Kat : ) I’ve always shared an interest in historical attire such as medieval, victorian and the 1920’s to name a few.
